Job Summary: Assists in the preparation of bread, rolls, muffins, biscuits and deserts according to recipe.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Represents Odawa Casino Resort in the most positive manner with internal and external guests to satisfy service expectations. Interacts effectively with a diverse group of guests and Team Members, learns and uses operating practices of the department and the organization.


  • Upholds Odawa Casino Resort’ Mission statement in all aspects of position: Odawa Casino Resort is committed to providing Guests with an exciting entertainment experience through exceptional customer service and hospitality.   • Checks production schedule to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake.


  • Measures ingredients, using measuring cups and spoons.


  • Mixes ingredients to form dough or batter by hand or with electric mixer.


  • Cuts dough into uniform portions with knife or divider and molds dough into loaves or desired shapes.


  • May be required to prepare baked goods for special diets.


  • May bake pies, cakes, cookies, pastries, or other desserts.


  • Prepare fruits and fillings for pies.


  • May mix icings and assist in cake decorating.


  • Monitors time and temperature control to ensure quality finished products.


  • Cleans and maintains work areas, utensils, and equipment.


  • Attends to day-to-day problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies; detects and ensures disposition of spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies/equipment, and/or other unusual conditions.


  • Completes production sheets and other records as required.


  • Attends all required meetings and training sessions.


  • Performs all other duties as assigned within the scope of work.

Minimum Qualifications:

Entry level culinary background and ability to read, write legibly, understand and speak English. One (1) year pastry experience. Must be knowledgeable in mathematics necessary to adjust recipes. Must be able to handle objects up to fifty (50) pounds and stand and/or walk for long periods at a time. Must be flexible with shifts and days off. Must maintain confidentiality at all times. Must be able to meet Odawa Casino Resortinternal training requirements. Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission. Pre-employment drug testing will apply to all selected applicants receiving an offer of conditional employment.
