Job Summary: Greets guests and escorts them to tables. Receives cash from customers or Team Members in payment for goods or services and records amounts received.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Represents Odawa Casino Resort in the most positive manner with internal and external guests to satisfy service expectations. Interacts effectively with a diverse group of guests and Team Members, learns and uses operating practices of the department and the organization.

- Maintains upbeat and positive attitude.
- Responsible for distributing and collecting pager for both guests and dining staff.
- Answers main phone line for restaurant and answers questions regarding meal specials, hours of operation, or special events.
- Greets guests, escorts them to tables, takes drink order, informs them of daily offerings and may provide menus.
- Informs supervisor of any guest complaints.
- Prepares paperwork when change is needed for the bank.
- Sets up correct menu depending on time of day.
- Assists with the labeling of food products on the line.
- Helps with preparation as needed.
- Handles all cash transactions for waiter/waitresses and departing guests, accepts bill and makes change, adds discounts, complimentary food and beverages.
- Helps with refilling drinks for guests as needed.
- Helps clear and reset tables when time permits.
- Assists supervisor with bank verification and end of shift revenue.
- Prepares supplies for new shift (i.e. tip envelope setup, pager distribution, fills dishes at hostess stand with mints and toothpicks, setup menus, etc.)
- Runs server reports for staff for tipping out at end of shift.
- Records hourly reports.
- Prepares paperwork (coupons, etc.) for revenue.
- Keeps track of minors while dining, calls for escort when minors finish meal.
- Assists supervisor with revenue at end of shift.
- Attends all meetings and/or training sessions as required.
- Performs all other assigned duties within the scope of work.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be able to read, write legibly, understand and speak English. Must be 18 years of age. High School Diploma or GED and one year previous experience preferred and good math skills. Good communication and guest service skills. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time with infrequent and brief rest periods, must be able to bend, kneel and reach. Moderate use of hands, wrists and fingers as associated with use of cash registers. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Exposure to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment. Must be flexible with shift and days off. Must maintain confidentiality at all times. Must be able to meet Odawa Casino Resort internal training requirements. Must be able to obtain a key gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission. Pre-employment drug testing will apply to all selected applicants receiving an offer of conditional employment.
