Job Summary: Maintains sanitation of kitchen areas and equipment. Cleans walls, coving, and floors in both front and back of the house having direct contact with food service. Removes rubbish and grease and disposes of properly. Washes dishes in prescribed manner following set procedures.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Represents Odawa Casino Resort in the most positive manner with internal and external guests to satisfy service expectations. Interacts effectively with a diverse group of guests and Team Members, learns and uses operating practices of the department and the organization.


  • Upholds Odawa Casino Resort Mission statement in all aspects of position: Odawa Casino Resort is committed to providing Guests with an exciting entertainment experience through exceptional customer service and hospitality.   • Maintains upbeat and positive attitude while working with guests and other Team Members.


  • Breaks down all dirty trays or bus carts from the dining rooms.


  • Carries dirty dishes from breakdown areas to the dishwashing areas.


  • Operates dishwashing equipment according to safety and sanitation procedures.


  • Removes all bagged dirty linen and replaces as necessary.


  • May be requested to run for products to and from the warehouse.


  • Removes garbage from the kitchen areas and disposes of properly.


  • Maintains cleanliness of work area and all related equipment.


  • Cleans and sanitizes trash cans, bus carts, dumpster area, work surfaces, hoods and hood filters, floors, and floor drains.


  • Cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment including but not limited to: buffalo chopper, vegetable prep machine, ovens, stoves, refrigerators, walk in coolers, walk in freezers, can openers, steam kettles, tilt skillets, bakery equipment, speed racks, Carter Hoffmans, and Queen Marys.


  • Stocks chemicals in respective areas and maintains pars as necessary.


  • Runs clean dishes to front of the house if necessary.


  • May assist with additional internal guest requests if necessary.


  • Attends all meetings and/or training sessions as required.


  • Abides by all health codes and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area and maintain neat and well groomed appearance in accordance with our grooming and appearance standards.


  • Performs all other duties as assigned within the scope of work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have good communication skills and be able to comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Must be able to write legibly, write simple correspondence and be able to understand and speak English. Must be able to meet physical requirement such as significant lifting up to fifty (50) lbs, along with standing for long periods of time, bending, reaching, stopping, pushing, and pulling. Exposure to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment. Must maintain confidentiality at all times. Must be flexible with shift and days off and be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission. Pre-employment drug testing will apply to all selected applicants receiving an offer of conditional employment.
