Odawa Casino Reacts to "Best Casino in Michigan" AwardManagement with the Odawa Casino Resort, owned and operated by the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, reacted today to the announcement that the property has been named "Best Casino in Michigan".Michigan Meetings & Events readers set a new record this year, casting more votes than ever before. Voters were asked to recognize outstanding individuals and companies in Michigan. Cathleen Hagan, the publication's editor is quoted as saying; "This year they gave me the opportunity to add my own picks to the mix. It sounded like fun until I realized how hard it was going to be to select a few from so many great candidates". "We couldn't be more pleased and more proud." Sean Barnard, General Manager of the Odawa Casino Resort said in a statement. "A few months ago, we adopted the "Simply the Best" tagline for our marketing campaigns believing that it's absolutely true. It would appear that we're not alone in that belief". Barnard gives credit for the honor to the resort's employees stating, "Michigan Meetings and Events talked specifically about our Team Members when they announced us as the winner of this award, saying (quote) "but what our online reviewers frequently mention is the friendly and helpful staff". That's what sets us apart from the competition in my opinion. For us to remain successful, we need to recognize that it's more than just a beautiful casino property. Our success will always be because of the hundreds of Odawa Casino Resort Team Members who provide outstanding service day after day. Truthfully, it's the Team Members who are Simply the Best and we're really so lucky to have them here". Owned and operated by the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, the $140 million Odawa Casino Resort replaced the original Victories Casino. The Petoskey resort opened in June, 2007 making it the second highest employer in the area with 1,500 slot machines, 30 table games, several restaurants, a nightclub and a 137-room hotel. |
