Job Summary: Performs any combination of following duties to facilitate food service in our Fine Dining venues.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Represents Odawa Casino Resort in the most positive manner with internal and external guests to satisfy service expectations. Interacts effectively with a diverse group of guests and Team Members, learns and uses operating practices of the department and the organization.


  • Upholds Odawa Casino Resort Mission statement in all aspects of position: Odawa Casino Resort is committed to providing Guests with an exciting entertainment experience through exceptional customer service and hospitality. Odawa Casino Resort is committed to providing Team Members with a safe, consistent and enjoyable work environment that brings rewarding and challenging experiences.


  • Maintains upbeat and positive attitude, smiles and engages guests with friendly conversation.


  • Provides prompt, courteous service to restaurant guests.


  • Greets guests in warm and friendly manner through smiling and making eye contact; uses guest’s name when applicable.


  • Accommodates guest reservations.


  • Keeps menus in good repair and informs management when they need to be replaced.


  • Utilizes Restaurant yielding system.


  • May utilize Micros system.


  • Keeps reservation book neat, organized and up to date.


  • Works with central reservations to accommodate guest requests; works with VIP hosts to accommodate our players and special requests.


  • Gets to know guests and preferences for seating and certain menu selections.


  • Escorts guests to table with menus; returns menus to podium as needed.


  • Keeps podium neat and organized and informs management when supplies are needed.


  • Recites daily specials.


  • Informs servers of filled or empty tables; may pour water or run for additional food items.


  • Assists servers as necessary.


  • Helps resolve guest issues if requested.


  • Attends all meetings and/or training sessions as required.


  • Abides by all health codes and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area.


  • Must be able to maintain neat and well groomed appearance in accordance with our grooming and appearance standards.


  • Performs all other duties as assigned within the scope of work

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to read, write legibly, understand and speak English. Excellent customer service skills. Reliable and conscientious. Strong understanding of gourmet dining atmosphere. Must be able to meet physical requirements of bending, kneeling, and reaching, and be able to be on feet for long periods of time. Exposure to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment. Must be able to meet Odawa Casino Resort internal training requirements. Must be flexible with shift and days off. Must be able to handle busy periods during peak service times Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission. Must maintain confidentiality at all times. Pre-employment drug testing will apply to all selected applicants receiving an offer of conditional employment.
