Job Summary: Under supervision of the Lead HVAC Tech II, provides a variety of HVAC/R maintenance services according to directions, specifications and established safety guidelines. Performs maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. Must have a good knowledge of building temperature control systems and experience in preventative maintenance procedures.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Represents Odawa Casino Resort in the most positive manner with internal and external guests to satisfy service expectations. Interacts effectively with a diverse group of guests and team members, learns and uses operating practices of the department and the organization.

  • May perform emergency repairs when necessary; may be required to work special assignments during emergencies.


  • Preventative maintenance & building checks.


  • Assists in troubleshooting and repair of HVAC equipment malfunctions.


  • Observes additional maintenance needs requiring attention and report them to supervisor.


  • Assists with troubleshooting and repair of complex chiller or control problems.


  • Assists with setting heating, air conditioning, ventilation and environmental control equipment into place.


  • Assists with wiring controls and other related electrical equipment.


  • Stays up-to-date with technological advances in the field.


  • Assists with the maintenance of equipment and tools.


  • Observes areas for safety, and that all potential hazards are fixed.


  • Performs all other duties as assigned within the scope of work.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED and two (2) years relevant experience. Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license and be insurable. Must have some knowledge of heating, ventilation, and refrigeration theory and of the practices, methods, materials, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment. Must be able to pass a physical. Ability to read, understand, and follow safety procedures. Must be able to use hand and power tools applicable to trade. Must be able to lift and carry weight up to eighty (80) pounds or more. Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing and pulling. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Exposure to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment. Frequent travel from building to building and local in-town travel required. Must be flexible with shifts and days off. Occasional out-of-town travel required. Must be able to meet Odawa Casino Resort internal training requirements. Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission. Must maintain confidentiality at all times. Pre-employment drug testing will apply to all selected applicants receiving an offer of conditional employment.
