Lewis has proudly been serving in Food and Beverage Management at Native Gaming Facilities for eleven years. Colleagues describe him as a Hospitality guru, having extensive experience in various aspects of the Industry, beginning his career in Hospitality at the age of thirteen. Lewis says, “I am very excited about the challenge of maintaining the quality of guest service at Odawa Hotel and the opportunity to present the hotel to the guests as a place where they will find consistent quality accommodations. The current Hotel staff is well trained and committed to the success of the business, and although I leave behind a strong group of Beverage Service Professionals who have truly made my work life a good one, I am thankful to the Odawa Casino Resort Directors for the opportunity to serve the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians at the Odawa Hotel.” General Manager, Sean Barnard says, “For us, it was critical that we find the right candidate who is ready to take the hotel property to the next level. Over the next year, as the economy continues to struggle, we will need to continually improve every aspect of hospitality for our guests”. Barnard added, “I’m already impressed with the ideas Lewis has to ensure a great experience for every guest and we’re delighted that he has accepted this new challenge. Lewis has a proven record of leadership and a passion for Odawa Casino Resort and northern Michigan that will easily transfer to the positive running of our Hotel.” Owned and operated by the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, the $140 million Odawa Casino Resort was named BEST CASINO IN MICHIGAN in 2009. The Petoskey resort opened in June, 2007 and features 1,500 slot machines, 29 table games, 5 table Poker Room, several restaurants, gift stores, a nightclub and a 137-room hotel. |
